All in a Day's Work!

The girls dropped their nap this past summer (sigh!)... but we make the most of our busy days. 12 hours straight entertaining two toddlers can be quite the task somedays. Since sweet brother still has a 3 hour power nap in the afternoon we have at least 3 hours a day when the girls need to be entertained (and kept quiet) until we can go out and explore the world. Tyler & Harper love any hands on activity.... they help with folding laundry (even if mom has to re-fold later), they LOVE to have a party ~ all of their dolls lined up with goodies to eat (hmmm... might have gotten the entertaining bug from mom), and cooking!

Decorating Easter Eggs.... over a month to go until the big day & our house is already fully decked out for Easter.

The girls favorite activity at school is any kind of craft. We save these projects for when Court can not get in on the action because baby brother & glue do not go well together. Already been there, done that!

Next up... baking!

Totally into cooking, especially when the end result is yummy cupcakes to eat!

Two girls somehow getting very grown up!

A week away....

Yes, we are still alive... a week with no blog post.... I better have a good excuse! Well, here is a great one... we were in the Dominican Republic celebrating Aunt Kristin getting married. A fabulous trip but we are now home and getting back to reality. It was a week away from technology & it was perfect. Kids were in great hands with Ebby & Poppy and were on perfect behavior. After trying unsuccessfully to wake up the girls when we got in, we are anxious for the morning to come when we can cuddle with our kids. Until I can snap some pictures of the cuties, here are a few from the wedding. Congrats Kristin & Nick!

Mudpies

After I put Court down for his nap,
this was not what I expected to greet me in the backyard...

but sometimes, being a mom means...

enjoying the unexpected adventures,

soaking up every minute of your child's happiness,

letting our kids be kids...

even though it is often messy.

Its these days of living in the moment...

with your precious kids...

that make a bubble bath in the middle of the afternoon a great day!

This & That.

A few pictures from the past few days....

Harper & Tyler.
Sweet sisters sharing a snack watching Sesame Street.

Court, all smiles... all the time.

Tyler checking out the turtles.

Harper & her collection of sea life.

Court, finally tall enough to splash at the water table.

Hanging out in the butterfly room.
Girls picking flowers & Court eating them.
I'm surprised they do not lock the door when they see us coming!

And our ALWAYS stocked laundry room actually ran out of supplies this weekend. No pull ups for the girls for bedtime. Good thing they can all fit in the same size diaper for emergencies! Harper was too busy crawling like a baby while we took this picture. Girls thought it was hilarious to wear a diaper again after a year of being potty trained.

Cinderella

The girls have been talking about Cinderella non stop this week. I could not really figure out why because they have never watched the movie but constant chatter around here has been about Cinderella, her blue dress and her yellow hair. Last night I figured out why... Sophie's Mom sent me some pictures from the birthday party the girls were invited to over the weekend while Mom & Dad were away.

I have been told the girls danced away with princess Cinderella and were good as gold. Guess we will be buying the movie soon! And guess that means mom needs to polish up on the Disney princesses.... think the 3 year old girl princess obsession has just hit our house.

Soccer Shots!

The girls started Soccer Shots today. Huge hit & absolutely hysterical to watch a bunch of 3 year olds chasing the ball. The girls love Coach Matt & they were both great soccer players. They listened to directions and then somehow knew just what to do and dribbled the ball and even scored a "goal." Proud Mommy & Baby Bro watched from the sidelines. We may have found our calling.... we shall see.

Warm up... jumping jacks.
Tyler & Harper are in the white shirts, pink stripe pants and ponytails with a bow.

Next up, sprints.

Harper working the moves.

Tyler dribbling, she was really good (for a 3 year old)!

And goal!

Harper needed a little hand holding, but she scored.

Post soccer practice pep talk.
The girls said their favorite part was kicking the ball & the jelly bean Coach Matt gave them at the end of practice. Then they asked if they could go to soccer again tomorrow.
