When Rice Cereal Happens...

Tyler & Harper had their first taste of "food" today & what an experience it was! The girls are not so sure about the new taste & texture but I am sure they will grow to love it soon enough. One thing is for sure... with new foods come new messes and more laundry loads! Next time I will be sure to break out the bibs.

And of course we videotaped it... another very exciting video from the White household. (Seriously as time goes on- we anticipate the videos to become much more entertaining... until then this is what you get!)

Weekend of surprises

Dad is back on the blog for a quick update.  This past weekend was full of surprises.  The family surprised Honey (my mom) with a congratulatory lunch at Fire and Sticks for her most recent Masters degree.  The girls were surprised by Honey with their latest and greatest source of entertainment - the Circus Exersaucer.  You can tell from the pictures below that they are already addicted to their new toy.  The great part about it is they can actually stand up with no assistance - freeing up a pair of hands to entertain a sister.  The downside - the girls' first lesson in sharing!

I can't believe how quickly the last 5 months have flown by.  We have endured shots, managed crying spells, had several false alarm trips to the doctor, gone through hundreds of diapers, and mixed more ounces of formula then I can count.  Of course this doesn't begin to scratch the surface of everything we have been through, but we have gotten pretty comfortable with this parenting concept.  Dad's little girls are growing up so fast.  Good thing they are always going to be well behaved and do everything their parents ask of them...

A photo shoot

When we were in Atlanta a few weeks ago, we stopped by my uncle's studio to have a few professional pictures of the girls taken. It is near impossible to get two babies looking at the camera smiling at the same time. But here are a few that came close.... We are going to try this again this summer at the beach- hopefully by then the girls will be able to sit up on their own!

Playdate

Tyler & Harper had a big day today... it started out with their 4 month check-up and ended with a little playdate! The girls have officially "filled out" weighing in at 13lbs each (Harper is 12lbs 15 oz & Tyler is 13lbs 4 oz). They also had shots today which explains the pouty faces in the pictures below...

Mom Julia with Griffin (5 months) & Avery 2 years,
Mom Elizabeth with Tyler & Harper (4 1/2 months),
& Mom Mary Cheatham with Sally (15 months)!

Avery pushes Sally in the swing...

...while Mom consoles the two saddest babies on the block today.
The girls were very fussy from their shots!

A big thank you to Elizabeth Payonk for bringing the wine...
it was DEFINITELY needed today!

Sip N' See

The Sip N' See

Tyler & Harper had their "Sip n' See" yesterday in Greensboro. The girls were very into all of the attention and did not mind being passed around for hours one bit! It was so special to have the twins meet everyone.

While Mom & the girls were away, Dad enjoyed a "boys night" in with Pearce. He cooked a steak, rented a movie and was in bed by 9. We thought he would be having baby withdrawal since this was his first night away from the babies, but he seemed to fare just fine (and Pearce loved all of the attention on him!)

A big thanks to Sallie for having such a great party for us!

Here are some more pictures from the Sip n' See!

And Tyler & Harper were so talkative after we got home last night that they wanted to record a video for everyone to hear their point of view on how much fun the party was...

New This Week...

So, the girls were supposed to have their 4 month check-up on Monday, but I decided to postpone it until next week. Tyler & Harper had a little cold so we did not want them to have their vaccines while their immune systems were low. Better safe than sorry!

Below are some pictures from yesterday... the twins are so talkative these days & are becoming much more active ~ kicking and trying to roll over.

We Love Polka Dots! (Or at least Mom thinks we do!?)

We are so strong now...
we can lift our heads all the way up and look around

And we love facing each other in our pod seats
(we can finally sit up pretty straight now)
and play together

When Mom Calls In Sick...

Well, Mom did the unthinkable this week... I called in sick! Dad came home to the rescue to take care of all 3 of us girls. At first Dad thought he would actually be able to multitask and got his Bloomberg set up at home and started making work calls.... that didn't last too long because when the girls are awake there is no diverted attention allowed (they make sure of it!) So, Dad jumped right in and took control... even taking time out to iron some of the babies' dresses during their nap.

The best part was when I went up to check in on them ~ he had them dressed in clothes that are a few sizes too big and was singing the songs along with the CD. Luckily my cold seems to be going away and hopefully next week I will have time to post some new pictures of the girls and Dad can leave his multitasking skills for the office.

Off to the doctor on Monday for their 4 month check-up.

Pearce keeps an eye on the twins that are having
some fun on the parents bed (a.k.a. Pearce's Territory!)
