Babies Behind Bars

The babyproofing has begun. Good thing because the girls are unstoppable at this point. Both are pulling up to a standing position like they are old pros and Tyler is confidently taking steps going from object to object. Occasionally they will let go and will be free standing, but once they realize that they are not holding onto anything they are quick to grab the closest thing in sight. With 11 months right around the corner and the girls getting so big, we are shocked at how quick the time has passed.

They have big personalities now and things that used to be easy are now hard and things that once were hard are now easy. The girls seem to babble more and somewhat understand when we say words like ball, light, dog & dada. They will look right to the word we say. It is pretty cool & we cannot wait for the girls to start talking to us.

Below are some pictures from the day the baby gates went up. At first it was a cool new toy, now it is not looked at with quite the same excitement...

"Let me out Mom!"

Miss Tyler
"I am going to find a way to open this!"

"Mom, seriously! Stop taking pictures and open this gate!"

Is it Halloween yet mom?

We may have trouble getting Tyler and Harper into their costumes by the time Halloween actually arrives.  The girls have been a monkey and a banana for several play groups, not to mention the few times mom has dressed them at the house to watch them laugh at each other.  They will be pleased to know the next time the costumes come out it will be to go trick or treating - or at least to hang out in the neighborhood for the Halloween party.

Tyler is the banana & Harper is the monkey

Now they have changed outfits... the banana is like a straight jacket which makes the proud crawlers very frustruated!

Another reason to dress up... Grumpa comes for a visit!

Funny Girls!

Harper is our little musician. She loves music, clapping her hands and dancing! She is very into making noise whether it is banging on the windows or talking to her sister. She also finally had a first before sissy... cutting her two bottom teeth. They have only just begun to come in, but she will have a full mouth of teeth before we know it!

Tyler is our adventureous girl and is VERY mobile these days. It took her 9 1/2 months to crawl and she is clearly making up for lost time. Tyler loves the stairs and will be very upset on Thursday when the stairs will be off limits as the baby gates will be installed! Mom can't wait. Watching two babies in two different areas is getting quite challenging!

Below is a short video of our sweet girls giggling just before bedtime tonight. You can't help but smile when you hear their laughter!

A Little More...

Here are a few more shots from our photoshoot last week. I promise you will be bombarded with photos of the girls later in the week, but for now this will have to do.

Aren't they just the sweetest???

Good Morning!

After 13 hours of sleep at night, the girls wake up refreshed & full of energy. Their new favorite place to play is their bathroom. They always crawl off and end up in there together laughing and hiding from each other. Here are some shots from this morning....

Riverbend Farms

We took our first family trip to the pumpkin patch today in search of the perfect pumpkin & lots of fun! The girls saw their first buffalo, chicken, sheep, a mini horse (that bites!) & wild turkeys. A hayride to the pumpkin patch and a picnic lunch rounded out the day.

Overall Day

The day started off quiet & calm...
Playing in the nursery
Giggling & smiling!

Tyler

Harper

In the afternoon we played downstairs.
When the girls were too quiet I went over to see what they were up to....

Picking out something to read?

Its way more fun to shred the magazines & make a huge mess!
