Fathers Day 2010

Happy Fathers Day!

We are beachin' it for the week... perfect day at Figure 8 for Fathers Day. The girls woke up bright & early ready to give Daddy their handmade gift. A cute poem with their footprints at the bottom and Court surprised Daddy with some new shades. Court picked them out all by himself!

Wild Women

Getting pictures of the girls the past few days has been all but impossible! They are either a million miles an hour or sleeping. There has been no in between. They have been having a blast at camp this week. Some of their best buddies are in their class so they run like wild... the heat has certainly not slowed them down.

The girls love this bench...

Hungry Boy!

I had the plan all along to wait as long as possible to start feeding Court solids... we have a fairly easy schedule with him & I decided adding solids would just mean more work. Apparently Court was not digging Mom's plan. After 24 hours of the little guy being pretty fussy I was convinced he had an ear infection (I did not really know what to look out for since none of our kids have had one yet!) but luckily he was just hungry. The 4 bottles a day were not cutting it anymore so we began the fun journey of baby food!

Court trying rice cereal.
If he could talk he would be saying "More, More!"

He loved it!
Eating a whole bowl for lunch & dinner in addition to his bottles.

We filled him up so much he slept for almost 14 hours!

The girls reaction to rice cereal when they were his age was not quite as enthusiastic ... see here!

Rub a Dub, 3 kiddos in the Tub!

Our little C is now big enough the bathe with his sissies! The girls were super excited about baby brother joining in the tub, Court is still undecided.

Court, not so sure about all of the splashing & noise.

All 3 back together again... Mom & Dad had a very fun kid-free weekend away with some great friends so Ebby & Poppy kept the girls entertained hitting up Lazy 5 Ranch, swimming at the pool and doing lots of fun crafts. Court was with Honey relaxing without the shrills of his sisters around. The girls did not mention Court while he was away, but they were quick to come hug him and tell him about all of the fun things they did while he was away!

Ice Cream for Dinner

A new frozen yogurt place opened within walking distance from our house. Perfect in time for summer. We decided to try it out tonight... girls picked their own toppings and decided this was the best dinner they have ever had!

Court looking forward to next summer when he can join in!

Tyler, yum yum!!!

Toppings picked by the girls:
gummy bears, fruity pebbles, mango, sprinkles, gummy worms, m&m's and kiwi

Tyler ate every bite!

I think we will be doing this often this summer.

Tu Tu Cute!

The girls are in ballet dance camp for the week with some of their good buddies! They twirl & dance, sing songs, do crafts & try on sparkly costumes. They are having a blast!!! Yesterday they came home showing off their news skill of tip-toeing! It was pretty cute.

Doing rock-a-bye baby to doggie & Coco
This is the new thing around our house & the girls asked to be rocked before bed every night. That is because they are "tiny babies" these day and like to fake cry, pretend to change eachother's diaper (even though they are in big girl panties!) and pat one another on the back to burp like Baby Court. Oh the minds of two 2 1/2 year olds!

Harper, enough with the pictures Mommy!

Tyler doing her "I am going to pick a flower Mommy , even though you told me not to" face.

What were we thinking?!?!?

So, what were we thinking? On a whim we decided to take the girls cribs down on Sunday night and put them in big girl beds (well, mattresses on the floor until the bed rails came in!) The girls have been talking about big girl beds because a few of their friends have them so we thought they were ready... WRONG! We did not take the twin factor into consideration. A built in playmate = no reason to stay in bed even if that was the #1 rule!

Here they are settled in with all of their necessities:
Aquarium, flashlights, books, blankets & lots of stuffed animals.

We went over the rules and they agreed they were ready. At first we watched on the monitor and they actually stayed in their beds. Then they quickly began cuddling in the beds together. We were fine with that, but then the chaos began. Playing, jumping, banging. It was insanity and we brought in the pack & plays for back up and the threat did not work. Too many trips up the stairs to count and we were beat. About midnight they passed out in their own bed but that only lasted until about 6am. 6 hours of sleep for our normal 12-13 hour sleepers was not a good thing!

Same Doggie
We cannot believe this dog has been in her mouth for over 2 years...
a weekly bath is not doing the trick these days.

(that she can't fit in anymore) & Coco

The next morning we talked about what happened. And when I asked why they did not listen to the rules and stay in their big girl beds, Harper responded "I am not a big girl, I am a tiny girl." You can't argue with that.

So, needless to say... in time for naps on Monday Mom had the cribs back assembled and we are planning on another 6-12 months in the cribs~

Atlanta!!!

We hit the road for a trip to Atlanta to visit great friends & for Dad to get some work done. We all loved being back in our old stomping ground. We sure miss it! Our dear friends were sweet enough to put us up so we had 5 kids 3 & younger in the house. It was wild!
